Paying someone to build a website does not, on its own, make you the owner of it. Under UK copyright law the rights stay with whoever built it until they sign them over in writing — and most providers never mention it either way.

Under the scheme registration rules from 1 October 2026, signing off an EICR takes your own Level 3 inspection and testing qualification, two years of documented experience and ongoing CPD. Fewer sparkies will clear that bar — and the renewals keep coming on a five-year clock regardless.

I already have a Facebook page
Fine for people who already know you. The problem is the landlord searching “EICR Worksop” at nine at night — Facebook pages almost never come up for that, and you cannot put a proper quote form on one.
Do I own it, or am I renting from you?
You own it. The domain goes in your name and the site is yours. If you ever want to leave, I hand over the files and help you move. No hostage taking.
How long does it take?
Two weeks from the day you send me your photos and certificate numbers. Waiting for content is what slows every job down, so I will chase you for it.
What if I want something changed later?
Small changes are in the £39 a month. Text me and it is usually done the same day. Anything bigger I quote first.
Why only one electrician per town?
Because two sparkies in one town are chasing the same searches, and I would be working against myself. Whoever says yes first has the town, and every hour I spend on local search goes behind that one site.
Is there a contract?
No lock-in. The monthly can be cancelled with a month's notice and the site stays yours either way.
How much does an electrician website cost?
Mine start at £850, and you can find a site for a lot less than that. The difference is what you get: five pages written for your trade, your certifications and quote form set up properly, and one sparky per town. Here is what a site costs, in full.
Can you move me off Wix or Squarespace without losing my web address?
Yes. The web address stays exactly as it is and points at the new site instead of the old one. Your pages and photos come across with it, and the old site stays up until the new one is ready. That is the £1,200 rebuild — moving an old site over.
I'm NICEIC registered — can you show the badge?
Yes. Send me your registration number and the badge goes near the top, where a landlord looks first. I show what you actually hold — NICEIC, NAPIT, Part P, your insurance — and nothing you do not. I never put a badge on a site that has not earned it.
