What I do with your details
The short version
If you get in touch, I use your details to answer you and nothing else. I do not sell them, I do not add you to a mailing list, and there are no advertising trackers on this site.
Who I am
sparkyweb is a one-person web studio based in Nottinghamshire, building websites for electricians. I am the data controller for anything you send me.
Email hello@sparkyweb.co.uk or message me on WhatsApp at 07907 063243.
What I collect
Only what you give me:
- Your name, phone number and email address
- Your business name and the town or postcode you work in
- Whatever you write in a message, an email or the quote form
If I have sent you a free mockup, I will also have your business name and the address of your current website — both taken from publicly listed information.
Why I have it, and on what basis
To answer your enquiry, quote for work, and do the work if you go ahead. The lawful basis is legitimate interests: you contacted me, or I contacted your business about a service it might want, and replying is what you would reasonably expect.
If you become a client, I keep what I need to run the job and meet record-keeping duties — that basis is contract and legal obligation.
Who else sees it
Only the companies that run the tools I use, and only so those tools work: my email provider and my website hosting provider. They process the data on my instructions and cannot use it for anything else.
I do not sell your details, share them with other tradespeople, or pass them to lead-generation companies.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. There is nothing to consent to, which is why there is no cookie banner.
One thing worth knowing: the page loads its typeface from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when the font loads. That is the only third party your browser contacts on this site.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that go nowhere: deleted after 12 months.
- Clients: kept while you are a client, then six years after the last invoice, because HMRC requires it.
What you can ask me to do
You have the right to:
- See what I hold about you
- Have it corrected if it is wrong
- Have it deleted, unless I am required to keep it
- Object to me holding it at all
Email me and I will sort it within a month. There is no charge and I will not ask you why.
If you are not happy
Tell me first and I will try to put it right. If that does not work, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If I add anything to this site that collects data differently — analytics, a booking system, online payments — I will update this page and change the date at the top.
